Make a life-changing pilgrimage, beginning this Advent.
Oriens is a Latin word meaning “rising” and “dawn.”
Your Oriens journey begins on the First Sunday of Advent and continues until the feast of the Presentation on February 2. Every day, you’ll take a step closer to “the dawn from on high.” Father Joel Sember is your leader on this pilgrimage, one in which you will learn what God is revealing to you through Scripture and prayer. With Oriens as your guidebook, you’ll learn how to pray, or to pray more deeply. Each day you’ll read a Scripture passage, receive Father Joel’s guidance on how to pray with that passage, and find questions for reflection and journaling.
If in years past you have found yourself on Christmas wondering how you missed Advent, this book will speak to you. If you utilized Oriens for the first time last year to deepen your preparation during Advent and celebration during Christmas, then you already know this book will open your heart to hearing the voice of God.
Welcome, Oriens pilgrim.
Prepare for and celebrate Christ’s coming with brief daily meditations for the Advent and Christmas seasons. Scripture, personal reflection, a question to think about or act to consider, and a short prayer to Mary are sure to touch your heart and lead you to a deeper relationship with Jesus and his mother, Mary.
The Children’s Little Advent Book is designed to help parents with children ages 4-7 on a journey through Advent to Christmas. Each day’s entry includes a brief Scripture reading, a reflection, discussion questions, a brief prayer, and a simple coloring page for children to complete after praying with their families. With The Children’s Little Advent Book, parents have an Advent resource specifically designed for short family prayer services with young children.
