Pier Giorgio Frassati was born in 1901 in Turin, Italy. As a student activist and lay Dominican, Pier Giorgio strived to put Jesus’ teachings to practice throughout his community. His friends and family loved his sense of humor, kindness and courage. Pier Giorgio was known as an avid outdoorsman and is often depicted hiking and skiing! He died at the young age of 24, but his legacy lives on. In 1977 Pope John Paul II deemed Pier Giorgio “the man of the eight beatitudes."
