Many Catholics avoid the Sacrament of Reconciliation simply because they don't remember how to confess their sins. They don't know what to say and are too embarrassed to ask.
How to Make a Good Confession, Spanish edition, gives Spanish-speaking Catholics those words, describing the actions and responses for each step of the sacrament. It also serves as a practical guide to a thorough examination of conscience, asking a series of commandment-based real-world questions. Even those familiar with the steps of the sacrament will benefit from a more thoughtful confession.
Equally as important, How to Make a Good Confession will inspire Catholics to seek reconciliation by reminding them of the great grace and peace they can receive when they ask for God's endless mercy.
This pamphlet is perfect for display in the back of the church or near the reconciliation room - parishioners can read it as they prepare for confession, or take it with them for reference. Use this pamphlet as a bulletin insert or mail it with other parish materials - it's a wonderful way to remind parishioners to seek God's forgiveness through the sacrament.

A few decades ago, the Catholic Church began referring to Confession as the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. It did this to emphasize reconciliation. That's the short answer to the question, "Why go back to confession?" We do it to be reconciled. Reconciliation literally means "to meet again." We've lost our way. Confession is the way back home.
The first thing Jesus did after His Resurrection was to give his apostles the authority to restore us to the Father: "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained" (Jn20:22-23). From that point on, the Church's ordained ministers have carried out this work of forgiveness and reconciliation.

A Holy Hour gives us the opportunity to honor Our Lord's request and place ourselves before Him. We join our own prayers, works, joys, and sufferings with His and "by the mercies of God, present [our] bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is [our] spiritual worship" (Romans 12:1).
How to Make a Holy Hour gives us suggestions on how to make a Holy Hour.
